You are concerned for everyone in the society to get equitable and comparable necessities in the areas of Education (Shiksha), Health (Swasthya) and Self – Reliance (Swavlamban). Your  empathy reflects for those who are deprived (વંચિત ), afflicted (પીડિત ), neglected (ઉપેક્ષિત) and disadvantaged (અભાવગ્રસ્ત).

Dr. Hedgewar Janma Shatabti Seva Samiti, Karnavati” which is a non-government, non-political, non-profiting “Voluntary Organization” established in the year 1989. The samiti which is inspired by the noble tradition of “Service before Self”, since inception it has been devoting its skills, knowledge and commitment to society by promoting the same tradition among individual voluntaries and organizations.

Vision of the Samiti
Every individual of the society may create Samatayukta, Shoshanmukta, Samras Samaj.

Gyanmandir prakalp is an initiative reflecting the vision and noble tradition of the Samiti working on 3 fronts of Shiksha, Sanskar and Samutkarsh for kids and their families who are deprived (વંચિત ), afflicted (પીડિત ), neglected (ઉપેક્ષિત) and disadvantaged (અભાવગ્રસ્ત).

Gyanmadir centers located in Seva-vasti where one or more teachers along with a guardian (who is mainly a sevavrati senior citizen), spend 2 hours daily from Monday to Saturday with kids, fostering Shiksha (Education), Sanskar (Values), Samotkarsh (Uplifting of All) through various activities. Three forms of gyanmandir are running currently depending upon the needs in various seva vasti.

Sanskar Kendra (Kids of any age)

  1. Regular on-going sessions with children through Songs, Slokas, Bhajans, Stories and real – life incidents of great personalities
  2. Group activities, Arts & Games, Skits and Dramas
  3. Projects for awareness and conservation of

  4. Taking kids on field trips

Gyanmandir for Supplementary education to kids from Std 3 to 8 along with Sanskar-sinchan

  1. Teaching subjects such as Mathematics, Science, English and Computers
  2. Story-telling on any subject which are useful to kids to foster values, confidence and knowledge local and global aspects and including finance.
  3. Arranging professional training for kids to sing, to draw, to play instruments, to dance, to act etc.
  4. Regular lessons of Bhagavad Geeta and Vaidik math
  5. Identify kids with special talents (Sports, Music – Vocal & Instrumental, dance, act, studies) and nurture their talent
  6. Preparing kids for various competitions as well as competitive exams
  7. Training children to play various sports and games
  8. Arrange models, charts, Science Kits etc. for better understanding of concepts of Science and Mathematics
  9. Bring in subject matter expert for training instructors/children

Pathdaan Kendra (Coaching Centers in Slums  – Std 8-9-10)

  1. Run tuition Classes in Seva-Vasti for kids of Std 8-9-10 (There is huge drop out ratio after Std 10)
  2. Share knowledge of various vocational courses after Std 10
  3. Provide Vocational Training or help to enroll for the same

****Teach adults to read and write, use technology ****

Gyanmandir attempts it’s best so kids and families have opportunity to engage in various festivals and related activities. Experts are invited to share the insight knowledge and motivation behind the celebrations which contributes in a larger spectrum for social change (Read more).

To cherish the learning and being together various events such as Summer workshop, reading week, annual function are organized every year per schedule (Read more).

We are trying to create a support system so we can better understand the problems of kids by being in contact with their families with regular visits to their houses, trying to be in touch with their schools,

Gyanmandir is giving equal importance to health awareness as well as self-reliance hence constantly putting efforts for various activities in those directions as well.

Heath (Swasthya) – Health Programs in slums

  1. Organizing Medical, Dental & Eye checkup camps
  2. Female volunteers: Menstrual Hygiene awareness sessions
  3. Counseling for adolescent girls
  4. Provide support to the families in case of medical emergencies
  5. Conduct Health surveys in slums
  6. Conduct Yoga camps in slums

Empowerment and Self Reliance – Volunteering Opportunities

  1. Guide and support adolescent kids for vocational trainings
  2. Guide and support needy adults for various occupational skills such as Woolen crocheting, Hand embroidery, Craft, Screen Printing, Fabric Painting. Computer skills, Air Conditioner, Home Appliances, Water Purifier
  3. Basic computer training for Kids from the seva-vasti

There are facilities of primary education, technological method, guidance of the experts of the various fields and library for the children.

There is also a scheme by this Gyanmandir for overall development of the children through various types of games, drawing, music, dance and writing competition and encouragement.

A thought has also been given to organize various types of activities like seminar, visit to various places, celebration of Utsavs and programmes of social awareness with a view that our child fulfills the social responsibility.

Siksha

At Gyan Mandir, Experts of respective educational fields encourage children for studies in their technologically advance curriculum.

Sanskar

At Gyan Mandir children are encouraged to participate in rich traditional and sports activities for a complete exposure of their extra-curricular activities.

Samutkarsh

At Gyan Mandir children are always taught about social responsibilities and equalities by engaging them in social awareness activities amongst them.
